Relationship Theory was first developed by my father David Douglas Thompson more than thirty years ago, and further expanded over the years in conversation with friends and family members. Jason Thompson, in particular, was heavily involved in developing the finer points of the theory. When David Thompson passed away in 2006, I decided the time had come to present his unusual ideas to the world and thus preserve them in some form, along with other ideas which can be described as Mythorealist.

Because I am a poet and novelist with no formal training in philosophy, I felt that it was most appropriate to present these ideas in the context of fiction.

The following novellas are set in the Mandarin Empire, a fictional interstellar civilization not dissimilar to classical China. The Mandarin Empire and its Tene Dynasty are intended as a venue in which interesting conversations can occur- a place where people care about art and poetry, magic and religion, and discuss such topics with pleasure. I hope you enjoy the conversation.
